80 The Strand

Client: AOS Studley    Year of Completion: 2008
Main Contractor/Customer: Faithdean Plc

In an exclusive office block, managed by Real Estate company AOS Studley, Architen Landrell was contracted to install a number of banner sails across the ceiling of a canteen area.

The client was keen to hide the ugly service units while making sure they were still accessible, and was interested in creating a feature surface which could be lit with feature lighting. The E-Screen mesh fabric used allows just this – a demountable structure which responds well to light deflection, and all within the client’s budget!

The original design had been to fix back to the structural walls of the room, however, with no structure at one end, an alternative solution had to be found. Taking the original design of the Architect, Faithdean Plc, and adapting it to fit the purpose, Architen Landrell was able to resolve the fixing.

A great success in the end, the banners provide screening for the services and offer the potential for a dramatic lighting feature!
