Hatfield Riding School

Client: Gardiner Design Associates    Year of Completion: 2007

The old riding school at Hatfield House has recently been converted into a conference room and corporate meeting space. While being an attractive venue, there was a major issue with sunlight shining onto the projection screen making it very difficult to see what is being displayed. Ultimately, this has led to a low booing rate for the room.

Architen Landrell, in conjunction with Arc Structures, won the contract to install some screens that would blackout the light whilst the project unit was being used but then could be retracted when not required.

Arc Structures, who specialise in motorised blind systems internally and externally, chose the blind system – supplied by Rodelbronn – which provided remote control over the screens, allowing the room to be shaded or uncovered quickly and easily.

Installation of the system was completed jointly – Architen Landrell used their expertise to fix the blinds to the rafters, while Arc Structures provided invaluable help in the installation of the electronic side of the system.
