Interior PVC structure

The Willows

Client: The Willows    Year of Completion: 2006
Main Contractor/Customer: Keyham Construction Ltd

Architen Landrell undertook the design, manufacture and installation of seven hypars in a refurbished office reception area at a psychiatric hospital in Leicester.

Like many of our other interior projects, the hypars were installed to provide solar shading to the people working at the desks below who had been blinded by the sun up until then.

Unusually, due to the use of the building, the design and installation of the hypars was not straight forward. All fixings had to be anti-ligature fixings to minimise the risk of suicide by hanging. The site team were given special training in these niche products in order to install them safely and effectively.
