Fabric pavilion for festival

Written by in Tensile Fabric Architecture

Located at the heart of Manchester, the Festival Pavilion manufactured and installed by Architen Landrell is a beautifully dynamic space specially designed for the Festival in conjunction with award-winning architects Stephenson Bell.

The pavilion was designed and engineered by our experienced in-house design team. The structure is made of PVC coated polyester fabric in order to achieve maximum strength and durability but also to enable a quick and easy installation and removal.

The structure will be in place for a number of weeks before being taken down at the end of the festival period. While the pavilion stands, it will form the focal point for the entire festival and be the place to meet, talk, eat, drink and soak up the atmosphere.

The Manchester International Festival, new for 2007, will draw from the city’s pivotal role in music and have a focus on new music – showing work by established and emerging international musicians. The Festival will focus on the important issues and stories of our time, through debates and new commissions and will aim to reaffirm the city’s 24 hour party spirit by working with the city’s clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants.
