Always keen to be involved in cutting edge design and to work with up and coming new architects, the team at Architen Landrell was excited to be invited to work with Young Architect of the Year, David Kohn to build a temporary event venue on top of the Architecture Foundation building and in honour of the London Design Festival.

Known as the Skyroom the scheme is designed as an unexpected outdoor events venue and incorporates a combination of single layer ETFE and ETFE cushions to maximise light transmission and create an open air feeling. Areas of outdoor space are mixed in with covered space allowing visitors to look to the sky and admire Londons impressive architectural skyline from the top of the 5 storey building.

Recognising the best in UK and Worldwide design, the London Design Festival 2010 runs from the 18th to 26th September although the Skyroom will be in place until the end of the year.
