In the world of modern architecture, innovative solutions are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. One such revolutionary development is the Architen Lightframe, a modular fabric ceiling system designed to enhance the aesthetics, acoustics, and lighting of a space. In this article, we explore the cutting-edge features and benefits of the Architen Lightframe system, which has garnered attention for its transformative impact on interior and exterior design.
The Architen Lightframe system is a standard system tailored with different fabrics and lighting. Suitable for both ceilings and vertical cladding, it offers architects and designers a versatile tool to redefine spaces. Our modular fabric ceiling system uses a sophisticated aluminium frame which holds light-diffusing and acoustically engineered fabric membranes which provide consistent results across both artificial and natural lighting conditions. Additionally, some of our material options also add a notable benefit in spatial acoustics, ensuring that the auditory experience within the space is as exceptional as its visual appeal.
One standout feature of the Architen Lightframe system is its ability to a create consistently illuminated, and shadow-free surface. This is achieved through extremely narrow frames with an elliptical profile, which minimises any unwanted shadows or interruptions in the overall design. The result is a seamlessly illuminated space that showcases the architectural and design intent with clarity and precision.
The Architen Lightframe system utilises architectural fabrics carefully selected for their unique light-diffusion properties and are treated with special finishing and coating techniques. This ensures a high level of UV durability, preventing fading or yellowing over time, and also guarantees the fabrics’ resilience and longevity. Furthermore, all fabrics offered as part of this modular fabric ceiling system meet stringent safety standards, achieving a highly flame-resistant rating of at least B1 according to EN 13501-1. This means minimal smoke is produced in the event of a fire and that no burning droplets are created, enhancing safety in architectural spaces.
Architen Lightframe system creates even light distribution, whether your light source is natural or artificial. However, the frame can also support its own integrated lighting. These LED arrays sit approx. 100mm above the 80mm deep frame creating a slimline self-illuminated ceiling system for compact ceiling spaces. By fine-tuning the lighting, the Architen Lightframe system allows for the creation of comfortable and adaptable spaces.
Even once assembled, our modular fabric ceiling system elements are lightweight and easy to handle. They use a simple support structure like a suspended ceiling, and the edges of the frames are secured by locking screws, creating the needed pre-stress. For maintenance, the frames can be easily taken apart by reversing the process.
The Architen Lightframe system represents a paradigm shift in modern architecture, offering architects and designers the means to transform spaces into captivating, functional, and acoustically superior environments. With its innovative use of fabrics, sophisticated frame design, and focus on both aesthetics and functionality, this modular ceiling system is poised to redefine the possibilities of architectural design. As technology and materials continue to evolve, we can only anticipate further advancements in architectural solutions that enhance the way we experience and interact with our built environment.
