No Smoking

Written by in Events, Tensile Fabric Architecture

As the smoking ban approaches, one of Britains most famous holiday centres approached Architen Landrell to help them create an aesthetic and practical smoking shelter.

The relationship between Butlins and Architen Landrell is a long and well established one. After installing the skyline pavilions at all three sites, a defining project for both Architen Landrell and Butlins, Butlins have continued to speak to us about up and coming projects and developments.

It is not surprising, therefore, that when the nationwide smoking ban was announced, Butlins turned to us to help them come up with a stylish way to accommodate smokers.

Adapting one of our more standard structures to fit the brief, Architen site crew are currently in the process of installing the two 9m umbrellas at the holiday centre in Bognor Regis. Due to be finished in time for the ban to kick in, Butlins will be left with a stylish and unusual take on the increasingly common smoking shelter.
